Pepperseed Riddim

The more I think back to the 90s the more surreal that period seems.  For example, my college GPA might have been a few points higher had I not spent so much time trying to master this dance.  Then again, it was not just a dance.  It was  more than just another addition to my life’s soundtrack. The pepperseed was a movement. For a brief moment in time I could’ve sworn that my entire world revolved around this riddim.  How I ever managed to escape its grasp and get back to reality, I’ll never know.

Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)

My stepson recently performed in a dance routine to this song at his school.  When he used to rehearse I used to pray for a day when I wouldn’t have to listen to this song.  It’s been three weeks since that performance. Three blessed Waka Waka free weeks.  But you know that saying about absence making a heart grow fonder, well you can apply it here…

Depeche Mode – Enjoy The Silence

One of my childhood dreams was to become a major league closer a la Lee Smith.  And even though I was a New Yorker, the team I wanted to play for the most was the St. Louis Cardinals because legendary pitcher Bob Gibson was once their ace.  Had I ever become a closer, this would have been my entrance song.
